the Technical Director for Virginia, will come to Danville to instruct the travel
coaches about the principles of zonal defending at various age groups. All coaches
are invited to attend. Addtional details will be posted when available. |

August 22, 2004 Olympic Development
Team (O.D.P.) Ten players from the Danville Soccer Club have been invited
to train with the Western District Olympic Development coaching staff this fall.
These players will train for eight Fridays in Roanoke between now and December.
In December, there will be two weekends where players from all districts will
come to tryout for the state O.D.P. team. This eventually will lead to the regional
and national teams in each of these age groups. Congratulations to these players
who are taking their game to the next level! Congratulations also to all of the
Danville Soccer Club coaches who gave these players a good soccer foundation!

Blackwell Automotive has donated 200 balls to the club to be used as community
clinic give-aways. Danville Soccer Club will send 10 teams of coaches and current
players to entice kids who are not a part of our program to join the recreational
division. The first 20 kids at each field will get a ball. The event will take
place Saturday August 14 from 9-11 am st the following locations:

Cacius Acolatse Hired as Rec Trainer The board recently hired Cacius
Acolatse to provide skills training to the recreational teams in our club. Coach
Cacius will work with three teams per week this fall. Check the coming events
to see the training weekly training schedule. Cacius Acolatse coaches the u15
boys for the Blast program, and he has his USSF National C License. |

August 01, 2004 Club Selects
New Director of Soccer This summer Sheldon Ciprianni accepted a job as
the Director of Coaching for Wave Futbol Club in Destin, Florida. The club selected
Cary Wright to fill the vacancy left by Coach Cip. He will be available to all
coaches, players and parents this year to improve the quality of our club. Coach
