Question: Where did the name "Blast" originate and who designed the logo seen on sweatshirts and patches?

Answer: Chuck and Cary Wright both responded about the origin of the Blast logo. The first Danville travel team started in about 1988. That team was coached by Alan Springs and managed by Chuck Wright. Team members included Cary Wright, Jeremy Carroll, Mike Newman , Mark Newman, Andy Hughes, Tom Harrison, Frank VanValkenburg, David Ramsey, Scott Newman, and Brady Lanoue. The team decided on the name "Blast". The logo was designed by Tom and Cathy Harrison. Cary indicated this team won the Roanoke Crestar Tournament in 1989.
